For those that know me, I am a ridiculously huge animal lover. If I could, I would have a menagerie of animals to cuddle with at night. Unfortunately, my adoring boyfriend (whom loves animals, but would rather love from afar) doesn't share the same feelings. It took me the first five years of our relationship to convince him to allow me to adopt the white ball of fluff that many of you have seen grace my social media platforms a few times (ok, I'll admit it... I'm a bit obsessed with him) But he has fit right it with us crazies, and our "guard dog" loves him to pieces!
Every so often I have the pleasure of meeting someone who makes me really feel like there's still some humanity left in this world. Most recently I have had the pleasure of getting to know a lady named Amanda. Amanda has selflessly given her home and her heart to senior and special needs cats. Having only known this wonderful woman for a short time, she hasn't stopped surprising me with the amount of love she has to offer these precious little creatures. Whether they be in their last few years or just starting their furry little lives, she gives them endless amounts of love and support.
I feel like every few weeks or so I see another "Cake Smash" photo session has gone viral. Whether it be tacos, fried chicken or spaghetti, I won't be one to deny that I haven't been dying to find something super creative and unique to do as well. Don't get me wrong, I adore every family, maternity and newborn session I have the pleasure of photographing, but I just had that itch.
Now, I can't take full credit for what ensued last week, but I will say that when you put two outrageously random personalities together, you have to expect an awesome outcome.
After posting about wanting to do a 30th Birthday Cake Smash, Amanda reached out and said she would like to book one. After a few messages back and forth, she suggested we involve the sweet little kitties she is currently housing. Of course I couldn't say no! Besides, who wouldn't want to spend their morning playing with cats?
So now friends, I bring you a "Cat Lady Cake Smash"
